Amazon Windowshop iPad App

Amazon.co.uk today launched Amazon Windowshop specifically for the Apple iPad. It provides a new bar for online shopping, and many Amazon customers may prefer Amazon Windowshop even when a large screen web interface is readily available. Behind the scenes everything remains the same – millions of in-stock items at great prices will be quickly dispatched from one of many fulfillment centres direct to your door.

“Amazon Windowshop has been designed and built without compromise just for iPad and we are excited to be able to bring it to customers in the UK in time for Christmas,” said Greg Greeley, Vice President EU Retail at Amazon. "It is a top-to-bottom rewrite of Amazon.co.uk with a completely new fluid experience that offers users a unique, fast and convenient way to search, browse and buy from Amazon.co.uk and thousands of Marketplace sellers. It is the same vast selection, same low prices, same convenient shipping offers – such as the Amazon Prime program – but with a new touch screen interface for shopping wherever customers use their iPad.”

Amazon Windowshop for Amazon.de and Amazon.fr also launched today following the introduction of Windowshop for Amazon.com in October 2010.

The app is free and it can be downloaded here
