Waste Of Time Using App Downloads As A Measure Of Success


Our pal Stuart Dredge has written an interesting piece in The Guardian Apps blog today, he talks about how ‘the mobile apps industry is suffering from ‘download-milestone overkill’. By that he explains that developers and publishers are more than happy to boast about how many times their apps have been downloaded and yet analysts and even the store owners themselves are only using downloads as a key metric to gauge success, in other words, they’re only a guide to potential success.
