Art Authority

media_1338409738414.png

The creators of the award-winning "Art Authority" app line today announced a broad partnership with world-renown Bridgeman Art Library and printing experts The Image Collective, furthering their mission of making classic art more available in more ways. The initial result of the partnership, expected this summer, will be advanced, high-quality print-on-demand capabilities for select works from directly within the app, as well as through a co-branded Web site. Longer term, the partnership plans to provide Art Authority users with printable access to over 200,000 images from Bridgeman’s collection.

Art Authority and London, UK-based Bridgeman Art Library are joining with The Image Collective (TIC) to implement the highest quality print-on-demand available. Users of the Art Authority iPad app will be able to view retina-display quality images from Bridgeman’s library and seamlessly order framed or unframed copies of those works. Similar functionality will also be available through the Web site. Works will be printed at TIC and shipped directly to customers. The service will initially be available in the U.S. and Canada.

Not only does the partnership provide Art Authority users with the ability to own physical, large-scale reproductions of works they view through the app, but it also over time will significantly increase their access to great works of art, both in terms of quality and quantity.

"We feel honored to have been selected by Bridgeman to spearhead their U.S. print-on-demand services," said Alan Oppenheimer, president of Art Authority co-developer Open Door Networks. "The combination of Bridgeman’s library, our app, and TIC’s printing expertise creates the most comprehensive access to classic art anywhere."

"We are very pleased to be working with Art Authority as one of our print on demand partners. Making our unique range of world famous art imagery available through the Art Authority platform furthers Bridgeman’s aim to bring museum quality art to worldwide audiences whilst driving revenue back to the museums and collections we are so proud to represent" said Victoria Bridgeman, CEO of the Bridgeman Art Library.

Tapose – Collaborative Content Creation

media_1338411101700.png

The third week’s winner of the $100 iTunes gift card is Luca Brunoni, an independent filmmaker who has been using Tapose as a communication tool between himself and his crew. For an upcoming series of advertisements, Luca used the maps function to pinpoint locations for shoots and imported storyboard images and used the sticky notes and drawing features to add remarks. "For me," Brunoni told Tapose, "the killer feature is the ability to conveniently add my voice commentary and paste the little boxes next to the shots: reminders for me, crucial information for the crew."

Tapose received several other creative submissions, each of which utilized different unique features of the app, including a submission that tracked a first trip to Hawaii by keeping elaborate journal entries and organized photos. Another submission came all the way from Sweden and saw Tapose hunting for apartments by copying images from the web and pasting them to a Journal, using business cards to spot locations, and importing and organizing pictures and notes about each one.

Tapose continues to encourage users to showcase their creativity, as well as share different ways to utilize Tapose’s unique features. The fourth and final winner will be selected on Friday, June 1st.

Tapose saw a tremendous amount of support from the iPad community upon launch, and quickly reached a spot in the top five paid iPad applications. Tapose, which unites content creation with collaboration, attributes its initial success to hitting a sweet spot in the productivity market. The app has been featured by ReadWriteWeb, Gizmodo, and remains one of the highest ranking iPad apps in the App Store’s Productivity section.

Cardio Lie Detector

media_1338411250644.png

Do your friends seem to be trying to cheat you? Do you wonder if he or she likes you? Could you not get hold of your boy or girlfriend all evening, and when he or she told you they went to bed early, you didn’t believe them? Wouldn’t it be good if you had a reliable lie detector? In that kind of situation, check out Cardio Lie Detector!

Cardio Lie Detector is quite different from other applications that indicate at random without evidence. Using the camera and the flash, the phone can monitor changes in blood flow and heart rate. Using this, Cardio Lie Detector can determine the probability that someone is lying.

How it works:
When you lie, your heart rate increases. Using the camera and the flash, the phone can monitor changes in blood flow at the end of your finger, which lets us detect variation in heart rate. Using this principle, Cardio Lie Detector makes sure you can’t be deceived.
Real lie detectors being used by law enforcement agencies are made using this principle.

Warning:
Cardio Lie Detector can’t determine the probability of lying exactly, although, it can give as good readings as real lie detectors used by law enforcement agencies. Please enjoy this app just for fun, with your family, friend and the girl or boy you like.

iRuleThem

media_1338412537222.png

It has often been debated if hold’em poker is purely a game of luck or a game of skill. IRuleThem – Hold’em Poker Simulator uses extensive mathematical formula and near real-time large scale experiments to analyze the outcome of any given scenario and prove that with the correct approach the underlying mechanics of poker describe a game of skill, where the probability of every outcome can be anticipated beforehand.

Rather than using purely theoretical calculations, iRuleThem creates extensively configurable large-scale tests in seconds based on user entered scenarios and extensive configuration to simulate the playing of thousands of hands. Offering input via either the custom created interface or specific voice controls iRuleThem can provide in-depth analysis faster than general speed-of-play, therefore allowing enthusiasts of the game to gain a better understanding of game dynamics in a variety of scenarios, even during online gameplay.

Scenarios are defined by entering hole cards for yourself and opponents as well as the turn card and river card. At any time all possible outcomes can be simulated and quick look icons show at-a-glance probabilities of different hands and winning positions, with values shown based on either drawing or not-drawing any further community cards. Outcomes can also be viewed in a series of bar and pie charts and full configuration supports simulation of up to 10 simultaneous players and also allows customization of the simulation size, probability format (odds, percentage, probability) as well as bet, call and possible win sizes.

Despite the complex underlying mathematics and fast optimized simulation, iRuleThem is a tool that is accessible to anyone with an interest in hold’em poker and extensive user guides, video demonstrations and instructions are available online.

Clear Scales

media_1338412964894.png

Ninebuzz Software, makers of top-rated guitar practice series for iOS, Guitar Jam Tracks, has launched ‘Clear Scales’, an app aimed at beginner guitarists wanting to master the art of guitar soloing.

Ninebuzz has become a major player in the guitar app world with their flagship series, Guitar Jam Tracks, a one-stop practice app for guitarists and bassists containing backing tracks, chord charts and scale charts, transposed in every key and adjustable on the fly. The well-designed Jam Tracks series boasts glowing reviews from top music publications such as Guitar World, Premier Guitar and various YouTube guitar celebrities including Rob Chappers. With a 4.5 star rating on the App Store and nearly 200,000 downloads worldwide, Jam Tracks are proving to be a must-have app for mobile guitarists of all skill levels.

Clear Scales, just released on the App Store, takes a sharper aim at the beginner guitarist market, offering an instructions section complete with music theory and general practice tips. The app does not include an audio component as in Jam Tracks, focusing the experience instead on scale comprehension and effective practice.

"We’re very proud to be number one for Jam Tracks on the App Store, and the warm reviews from happy guitarists never get old! Still, I know there are many beginners out there who need help, but don’t yet realize the benefit of backing tracks for practice. With Clear Scales, we’ve taken the awesome educational piece of Jam Tracks and built an entirely new experience specifically for beginners just starting their journey into scale practice. The fretboard can be daunting, but our apps take the scariness away. Clear Scales is the perfect place for a new guitarist to start exploring their instrument," says co-founder Rick Belluso.

Like Jam Tracks, Clear Scales focuses on the Pentatonic scale, which is arguably the most ubiquitous scale in modern music and generally the first one that beginner guitar players are taught, due to its familiar sound and "out-of-the-box" simplicity.
