The App Whisperer – Flickr Group Showcase – June 29, 2013
We have put together another very special Flickr group showcase , our twenty second of 2013 with some of our favorite images and some great new talent that have been uploaded to our Flickr group – Mobile Photography & Imagery, this week. The quality of submissions continues to rise, so we have decided to make our showcases that much bigger to incorporate as much of this stunning mobile art and photography as we can and to get it out to a wider audience. Each image can be viewed on Flickr by clicking on the relevant artist below: Paul J Rose, Scott Terrill, Thomas Kakareko, Liz Traynor, Pirmin Follmi, Sharon LuVisi,…

Welcome back to the fourth article in our fabulous new Column, Mobile Movies. We at TheAppWhisperer have been inspired by the Flickr upgrade of 1 Terabyte of storage for everyone and have been wanting to launch a mobile movie section for some time. Now seems to be perfect, the new Flickr upgrade will allow for a full 3 minutes of 1080p HD quality video per single film and you can have as many as you have storage space for. Each week I (you can find me on Flickr here) will curate the movie uploads to our new Flickr group – MobileMoviesTheAppWhisperer – I will view all the videos uploaded and…

Bolt takes on ‘Blot’ in new Virgin Media ad campaign
We had a fabulous time learning about Virgin Media’s new multi-million pound advertising campaign earlier this week in Central London and today we’re delighted to be one of the very first to tell you more. Quick out of the blocks with the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt and Sir Richard Branson bringing the benefits of superfast broadband to life. The ads kick off on primetime ITV and Channel 4 on Monday, 1st July. The campaign invites Brits to put their broadband to the test and sees Bolt, representing Virgin Media’s superfast fibre optic broadband, go head-to-head with Blot, a slow and inefficient challenger representing regular broadband powered by DSL technology.…

Surreal Photography – Creating The Impossible – Book
We’ve just received a copy of this book (thank you so much Janine) and it is really such a good read and visual treat. It’s not completely based around mobile photography but that does play a significant part. The primary feature of this book is Surreal Photography and whether you have started the process with your mobile, DSLR, compact it’s doesn’t matter because the tutorials thereafter are based on your capture medium. Janine Graf’s tutorial ‘One Step and Then The Next Get You Where You’re Going’ is in-depth, there are also many photoshop tutorials by many other photographers including, Natalie Dybisz, Jon Jacobsen and Patrick Desmet. This book reveals the…

Gray’s Anatomy – ‘Moving house from Apple Gardens to Galaxy Crescent’ – By Richard Gray
So after much heart-searching, a few days ago I moved out of Apple Gardens and moved into Galaxy Crescent. The thing we really lovely about the new place is the garden. Look how big it is, isn’t it lovely! We can run around all day long. Inside, it’s about the same size as the old place, but the good thing is I can build an extension very cheaply for extra storage. The builders are due tomorrow. Of course the previous owners left a lot of their furniture and their taste in wallpaper was a bit garish. So I’ve spent the whole of the first day rearranging the chairs and sofas…
