Streets Ahead – Visual Diary Article – ‘Look in Glass: Part II’

Before sharing our featured story… we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone for their submissions to Backspaces! It’s been such a privilege to read (and learn about) everyone’s visual explorations… and we really wish we could highlight all of them. But unfortunately, we have space for only one and this is published every Thursday on the main TheAppWhisperer.com site. So please make sure to visit our page (http://www.backspac.es/tag/theappwhispererstreetsahead) on the Backspaces app to see all the work that is being done. And also, please continue to tag your stories with #theappwhispererstreetsahead, so that we can find them… and enjoy them and feature them here!

For the first installment of this segment we are featuring  “Look In Glass: Part ll) by Sanikdote (Stefanie LePape.) And here’s why….

Throughout time, many photographers and artists have been interested in how our perceptions can be altered by viewing reflections in glass. We see them all the time, on a daily basis, and yet we are often unconscious of them. Stefanie, on the other hand, sharpened and focused her eyes on this subject… and has  presented us with a visual essay of of her journey.  Each image shows us two separate worlds that exist simultaneously within the same space… all with lovely compositions, tones and clarity.

I am so touched. This means so much to me. If u could look through this glass shield you’d see a teary eyed face.
Appreciative for the opportunity to hear how someone else is seeing a part of me.
Thank you thank you thank you.

Now I am left wondering, is our reproach towards street a reflection /mirror of ourselves or a window seeing others or both?
As woman …mothers , caretakers perhaps indeed both.
