Mobile Photography & Art – The Courage to be Afraid – Showcase for Carolyn Hall Young

Recently, I set up a Facebook group entitled – The Courage to be Afraid – A Tender Tribute to Human Valiance with Carolyn Hall Young. Hall Young is our dear friend and hugely talented artist and many of you are aware that she is currently experiencing particularly challenging health issues. This group was made with love and is full of love from all the artists who have joined this group to create and share their images for her. I have complied each image into a film showcase, so that she can view all of them in one sitting (hopefully). When she is feeling more well, I am sure she will be able to vist the group and view all of your kind words in full (more so, than the space allows me to write the titles).

(Please do note, that I have gone through the group several times, searching for all the images for this particular showcase and I believe I have included everyone, if not, please just let me know and I will add you).

Many thanks to the following artists for creating these images for Carolyn:

Vicki Cooper, Claudia Contreras, Carol Wiebe, Mandolina Moon, Violet Martins, Catherine Restivo, Headattacks Crealitys, Kate Zari Roberts, Lorenka Campos, Eric L Raddatz, Andy Butler, Deborah McMillion, Roger Guetta, Carol Dogsitter Smith, M. How could anyone not blossom even to the tiniest bright atom of sunlight after seeing this outpouring of love. Joanne and all the participants, this is one shining example of all the Good in this World. And Carolyn, we are not done with having your beautiful soul around and the kindest person buoying us all up on that Positivism you personify. I am proud to be part of this group.
    Much love
    D

I am so completely moved to tears, to see this. I thank you. I see you. I see you. I thank you.
My friends, old and new, close and tangential, whose work and ways of being I respect and admire, whose images I have known, without being able to articulate how. All this connectedness, which would both fuels me, and breaks my heart, as your hearts are blossoming into full open ON, into the wild courage and unpredictable rodeo of caring enough about another to risk impossible pain and certain loss. What bravery here! What grace!
I thank you for your courage to look me in the eye, and to not look away.
To celebrate our common intent, to bring into view the love, the beauty, the art. The clarity. Thank you. That we can stand back, hold each other’s hands, and make love grow. To not forget. To find thanksgiving. To see the possible. Thank you for filling the world with more goodness. That we love without knowing why, but just knowing that it matters.
And, that it does not matter if the focus of love is me or you – it is both, the all of us in it. We are the same. The fullness of it. Transparent, like water. It is the will to be joyful, because we are the same, in entirely different ways – the loved, the loving, the beloved, the BEING LOVED. I am basking in your loving. Thank you.
Every single one of you, every self-doubting, broken-hearted, wishful-thinking, grateful/guilty/gratified, entitled, not-good-enough, in the plenitude of time, when you are happily surprised by the sweetness in your own heart – that is you, with your good intent, bringing love to my table, wishing me well, and I am wishing you well, too.
Bon voyage, to you, whatever your destination. Olé to you and every single one of your beautiful dreams.
I hope you catch my love arriving, too, on the edge of a shadow – in that pause before the light turns green, when you get to move forward. A glimmer of light off of a wet leaf. A sense of well being.
Today, I am the bird on the wire. I have dared to love and be loved. I thank you.
I am like you, just a girl who wants to have fun, and maybe do something wildly liberating in the process of bowing to kiss the sacred ground. I love this sacred ground. I love to kiss.

    Dear Joanne,

This is an extraordinary presentation of all of you who have been inspired to give to Carolyn. I love the music along with the fading from color to black and white. The artists creations are truly amazing–embodying much love and beauty. Thank you for all that you have and continue to do.
