Mobile Photography & Art My Top Five Apps by Lorenka Campos from Wichita Falls, Texas, USA

We are revitalising our Top Five Apps section to our Photo App Lounge column. This a section within TheAppWhisperer where we ask highly accomplished mobile photographers and artists to list their top five apps and to explain why they have selected them. Kicking us off today is not only a highly accomplished mobile photographer and artist but also one that I deeply admire, Lorenka Campos from Wichita Falls, Texas, USA.  Take a look at her Top Five Apps… (foreword by Joanne Carter)

“When working on art, I use many different apps on each piece. I like to create and move a piece from app to app for various results, sometimes with dozens of edits layered on top of each other. Some of these apps do similar things, but I may like how one app does one thing better than the other. These are my current top five favorite apps”.

Snapseed

The one app I use on every image. I usually start all photos in Snapseed for cropping and image adjustments. Sometimes I just tweak a little and sometimes I go for a total transformation. When I’m finished with a composite piece, I usually end it in Snapseed as well for final touches.

Superimpose

I use this app for creating composites and characters. I love to mask and save bits and pieces of my photos to use in current and future art pieces.

Image Blender

I love the ease of this app for quickly blending and masking images.

$3.99/download

Art Studio

This is my go to app for creating totally hand drawn images and adding drawings or paint to my photo composites.

$4.99/download

Repix

This app is fun and I feel very free and spontaneous when using it. Because a lot of my work is detail oriented, it’s very freeing to smudge, blur, and erase with abandon in this app.
