Mobile Photography – Instagram TAKEOVER with @cawestruck – Carol Wiebe – Day 4 – the story so far…

Share

We are so excited with our latest Instagram TAKEOVER this time with @cawestruck – Carol Wiebe. She is a highly respected and talented artist and has been granted full access to our Instagram account and she has done such a magnificent job. We are very proud of her! Please take a look at her Instagram feed to see what an incredible artist she is.

On Day 4 @cawestruck highlighted the work of talented mobile photographer and artist @observing_m – Michael and she writes, “A shiver runs through me as I observe a figure, or figures, almost in silhouette, making their way through a large, manmade environment. The two figures are obviously comfortable, there is no visible fear in their body language, but I see the harsh light that renders them in sharp relief, the hard, straight lines of the walls and floor, and I know that my first time traversing this space, especially if I was alone, would be with great caution. Other images in this artist’s gallery continue to show interactions between figures and the structures they choose to surround themselves with. It is fascinationg to experience what kinds of memories and emotions the various environments evoke”.

Later on Day 4 @cawestruck discovered the work and world of @wstairs – Wayman Stairs and she writes “It is my pleasure to highlight “Searching for Answers” by @wstairs. Dali comes to mind, of course, viewing this digital artwork, but Wayman’s Stairs surreal images are entirely his own. The egg in the center of the hovering object is personally symbolic for Stairs—he has used it before. One can speculate it means new life, an embryonic beginning—a good place to start when you need information—but it is anyone’s guess why burning elephants are attending the search. Perhaps the answers that are being sought have been burned into their minds, an unfortunate side effect of not being able to forget”.

Also on Day 4 @cawestruck reflected on another of our Columnists and immensely talented artists @SarahJarrettart – Sarah Jarrett and she writes, “It is my pleasure to highlight this image by @SarahJarrettart. I will never forget the first time I saw one of Sarah Jarrett’s digital portraits: I was mesmerized and looked up any information I could find on her work and methods. Before that, I had not considered portraiture as something to pursue, but hers were wild and wacky and I was smitten. This particular image is what Sarah calls digital collage, but she paints landscapes, creates textile art, and a host of other creative endeavours too numerous to mention. Put on a pot of tea, type her name in a search string, and be prepared to spend an evening perusing her many talents and accomplishments”.

Thank you so much dear Carol, it is our privilege to see #theappwhisperer through your eyes, it’s so good.

Like all of these artists, please continue to tag your images on Instagram with #theappwhisperer in the hope to being selected and featured!

Mobile Photography – Instagram TAKEOVER with @cawestruck – Carol Wiebe – Day 3 – the story so far…

On Day 3 @cawestruck highlighted the work of talented mobile photographer and artist @jules4921 – Rita Colantonio and she writes @theappwhisperer IG takeover by @cawestruck—It is my pleasure to highlight “The Dance” by Rita Colantonio, aka @jules4921. Rita experiments with many digital techniques, but her work always has a certain elegance to it—deft touches that elevate the beauty and further illustrate the story behind it. “The Dance” features the skirt of the dancer, and the folds contain sweet surprises, like flowers and faces from famous paintings. You want to clasp the hands that hold the skirt, and lead them right onto the dance floor”.

Also, on Day 3 @cawestruck also highlighted the work of accomplished mobile artist @KDivineBoulder and she writesIt is my pleasure to highlight “Sorceror’s Apprentice” by Karen Divine, aka @KDivineBoulder. Karen’s images are mind blowing, literally. In describing the meaning of this image, Karen cautions that. . . . . “like the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, you must remain alert.  Trying your hand at magic could unleash havoc if you fall asleep.  If you’ve missed the circus this time around, wait – a new one will certainly come along, giving you another opportunity to wake up.” Thank you, Karen, for providing us with alarm clocks. Just studying one of your images urges me to wake up”.

Also on Day 3 @cawestruck highlight the inspired work of @bonobostonecreations – Bonobo Stone and she writes “It is my pleasure to highlight “Will Power” by @bonobostonecreations. Bonobo Stone has a knack for combining portraits with other images, but my favourites are his portraits within portraits. Pick any of his works, however, and you will be rewarded by finding intriguing collaged details among the masterfully applied marks, drips and smudges”.

Later on Day 3 @cawestruck highlighted the work of none other but our fabulous Portrait of an Artist editor @ilemusi – Ile Mont and she writes “It is my pleasure to highlight “Dreaming the Journey” by @ilemusi. There is a sense of movement and mystery in this image, plus the suggestion of a human figure. The title teases your mind but your eyes search in vain if they are wanting a definitive object to rest upon. Somehow, you cannot look away, which makes the “journey” you may be witnessing most definitely dreamlike.”.

Thank you so much dear Carol, it is our privilege to see #theappwhisperer through your eyes, it’s so good.

Like all of these artists, please continue to tag your images on Instagram with #theappwhisperer in the hope to being selected and featured!

She is a highly respected and talented artist and has been granted full access to our Instagram account and she has done such a magnificent job. We are very proud of her! Please take a look at her Instagram feed to see what an incredible artist she is.

On Day 2 @cawestruck highlighted the work of talented mobile photographer and artist @axelbergk – Axel Bergk and she writes IG takeover by @cawestruck—It is my pleasure to highlight this work by @axelbergk. I love abstract art and Axel Bergk creates stunning digital abstracts on his iPad. His work gives the impression of depth and texture because of multiple layers, all of which have gone through various processes. There is much for the eye to explore, but without the busy-ness that might result from less masterful editing.

Also, on Day 2 @cawestruck also highlighted the work of accomplished mobile photographer and artist @hedgehogstudio – Julie Denning and she writes “IG takeover by @cawestruck—It is my pleasure to highlight photo art by Julie Denning. Julie uses an eclectic range of photos and images to create her work, combining them in such a way that the results look effortless. See more of her charming gallery here @hedgehogstudio”.

Mobile Photography – Instagram TAKEOVER with @cawestruck – Carol Wiebe – Day 1 and Day 2, the story so far…

On Day 1 @cawestruck highlighted the work of talented mobile photographer and artist @elizabadiou – Eliza Badoiu and she writes This is Carol Wiebe, @cawestruck, on Day 1 of my IG takeover, and I have chosen this subtle, textured, oh so feminine image as pic of the day! Whether that is a suggestion of the moon I see, or not, I am over the moon about this pic!”.

Also, on Day 1 @cawestruck also highlighted the work of accomplished mobile photographer and artist @marrietteschrijver and she writes “IG takeover by @cawestruck—Python is both a snake and a programming language, which makes this clever image by @marrietteschrivjer doubly appealing”.

On Day 2 (so far) @cawestruck highlights the work of adept mobile photographer @badgrowshop and she writes “today’s pic of the day is this moving image created by James Ellis. Ellis excels in complex layering of faces with places. The sentiment expressed here that of leaving a loser town, which sounds angry, but the expression on the face of the subject exudes disappointment and sadness. He is the one who has been abandoned. That yellow line is headed straight out into the unknown, and as we all know, a double yellow line is dangerous to cross”.

Thank you so much dear Carol, it is our privilege to see #theappwhisperer through your eyes, it’s so good.
