Apple’s WWDC 2018 Kicks Off Today – What To Expect…

Today, at 10 am pacific Time, UK 6 pm, we’ll be tuned in to find out what Apple has up their sleeves and we can’t wait! Rumours abound, as always and one that seems almost certain is iOS 12. iOS 11 has not been entirely popular for Apple users, so Apple is keen to push ahead with a fully stable iOS 12. We’re expecting to see amongst other things a redesigned home screen and photography enhancements and we do know that AR is getting a bigger push this year. Reuters are working on the theory that Apple is working on a way for two iPhones to share AR data directly, that sounds interesting! Apparently, an upgraded version of Face ID is also coming, including the ability to unlock your iPhone with the device held in a horizontal position, that would be good. There are also rumours that Apple’s TrueDepth camera technology is coming to future iPad versions, fingers crossed for that one!

What else? Well there are rumours that Apple will roll out a host of additional health and fitness functionality to the Apple Watch, via their HealthKit app.

As this is the WWDC conference, it’s unlikely that Apple will launch new high end iPhones but no doubt they will be announced and launched in September.

One thing I’m interested in in particular is Apple AirPower and I’d really like to see the wireless charging pad, I’m not sure if this is going to show up today, but I’ll be watching closely.
