Appsters Awards – Final Call For App Submissions
As many of our readers will be aware we are official Media Partners of the Appsters this year at Apps World. The Appster awards held on 2 October at the trendy Roof Gardens in Kensington, promises to be a must-attend for the who’s who of apps glitterati. The awards winners will be decided by a judging panel of independent experts, delivering plaudits to worthy winners across twelve key categories. BlackBerry – More BBM Connected Apps Set To Launch
A series of updates to BlackBerry apps will be released over the coming days to make it even easier for users to stay connected with their BBM contacts. Research in Motion has announced that its new security and back-up application, BlackBerry Protect, is available as an Open Beta for UK users to download. BlackBerry Protect is a free application for BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) customers and allows users to wirelessly backup, restore and remotely locate their BlackBerry smartphone. In the event that their BlackBerry smartphone is misplaced, lost or stolen, BlackBerry Protect provides features such as remote device wipe, remote device lock, a ‘lost and found’ screen on the device, remote geo-location using the GPS, remote activation of the BlackBerry smartphone loud ringer and wireless device backup and restore. App Gifting Comes To BlackBerry App World
Very much like the successful gifting facility in the Apple App Store, BlackBerry has now announced a new mobile gifting platform that will integrate with BlackBerry App World and carrier billing systems to allow BlackBerry subscribers to instantly gift airtime, apps and other carrier services from one subscriber to another using BBM.
