Mobile Photographer & Mobile Artist Portfolio Profiles

Share

We are building the largest and most comprehensive portfolio of mobile photographers and mobile artists in the world. Of course, that’s only apt as we are the most popular mobile photography and art website in the world. Take a look at the link below, you will see a description of the artist, some sample images and if they have taken part in an interview or other projects for us, we have linked to those.

We will continue to build this and we need your help. If you would like to be included in this comprehensive director, viewed by millions of organisations throughout the world, then please submit a selection of twelve images, either an artist’s statement or description of your work and social media links. Send this information via WeTransfer or Dropbox to Joanne@theappwhisperer.com.

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 17 January 2016

Share

Described in the press as ‘the saddest week in showbiz’ following the tragic deaths of David Bowie and Alan Rickman and more… this showcase has a melancholy feel. Sadness has its place, despair is universal. However, this is a showcase not for the conflicted chronicler, it is one for us all to love and appreciate all of the formidable obstacles that lay ahead of us, to find solace and to share compassion and insight.

If you would like your work to be considered for entry into our weekly Mobile Photography and Art flickr group, please submit it to our dedicated group, here. If you would like to view our previous Flickr Group Showcases (please go here).

I hope you all enjoy this as much as I do.  Many congratulations to the following artists for being featured this week:

Connie Gardner Rosenthal, Carlein, Anthony Foster, Geri Centonze, Susan Tuttle, Bobbi McMurry, Hanni K, Vivi, Montse Abad, Jun Yamaguchi, Lee Atwell, woltarise, Matt Kayden, Benamon Tame, Eliza Badoiu, Cristian Margarita, Suzanne Beard, Lawrence Lazare, Ralf Mauyog, Edith Meier, Pier Luigi Dodi, before.1st.light – Jane Schultz, Radek Maslowiec, Alejandro Cendan Rodriguez, Poetic Medium, Carolyn Hall Young, Liliana Schwitter, Gianluca Ricoveri, Ioannis Sidiropoulos, Brendan O Se, Esteban Lefebvre, Jormain Cady, BlemishedEye / David Booker, Kevin Leong,

Joanne Carter Lecture on Mobile Imagery at DigiFun Art Festival 2015 – Seoul Museum of Art – Part 5

Share

I hope you’re all following the posts relating to my lecture at the Seoul Museum of Art, South Korea on 23 September 2015.  If you have missed any, please go here. It was a huge honour for me to be invited by DigiFun Art to participate in the DigiFun Art: Urban Scape Mobile Photography & Art Exhibition and Festival at this most prestigious museum.

I divided my two hour+ lecture into sections and I will now run through my fifth group of slides/my notes that I made in Part 5. In this section, as I knew that image collusions are very popular in the Far East, I wanted to explain our wonderful section Artistic Anarchy: Mobile Collusions Column, edited by Jaime Glasser. I created a video of images selected by Glasser to show the audience and have published that below.  Congratulations to the following artists for being featured:  Kerryn Benbow, Karina Wollina, Mark Schnidman, Sonja Kautzman, Carolyn Hall Young, Edith Meier, Julio Pelaez, Becka Schiller, Laboridomi Latorre, Fiona Christian, Anthony Ozorai, Manuela Ballasadero, Sukru Mehmet Omur, Elaine Taylor, Christina Rankin, Cecily Batey Caceu, Andrew Lucchesi, Kim Martino Diaz, Garry Ryon, Marguerite Koury, Michelle Mott, Dieter Gabel, Chad Rankin, Gretchen Bickert, Aldo  Pacheco, Claude Labarussiat, Jo Sullivan, Riva Ax Riise, Jane Fiala, Vivi Hanson Sacerdote, Lisa Peters, Benamon Tame, Tina Rice, Barbara Nebel, Violet Martins, Kate Zari Roberts, Pam Blackstone, David Hayes, Diana Nicholette Jeon, Allyson Marie, Isabella Matthews, Armineh Hovanesian.

Please note, that these are my notes to prompt not only myselfW but also my really  wonderful English/Korean translator Carol Seungjoo Park – I expanded upon these points within my lecture.

Mobile Photography/Art – PictureBook – Midnight Thorn – TheAppWhisperer

We are absolutely delighted to publish Benamon Tame’s latest article (#36) to his PictureBook Column with us.

PictureBook is full of creativity and imagery in words and in pictures. It is a complete joy to read, view and publish – thank you Benamon.

The concept behind the PictureBook column is not just about capturing stories but creating them, the journey behind and the image we present. PictureBook draws on Images selected from Benamon’s own story series and also looks at the work of the other story tellers within the community’.

“Midnight holds a singular place within the Thorn household, a family well known for its affinity for Ravens. Looking through the records and pastoral scenes from the family’s extensive collection of paintings reinforces their connection to Ravens but also to the Black Cat. Hunting scenes are in abundance as you would expect from a family of their station but dogs and Birds of Prey are noticeably absent. There several scenes of archery and boar hunting and horse riding which on close inspection all show a single animal in accompaniment in the shape of a Black Cat”.

PictureBook is full of creativity and imagery in words and in pictures. It is a complete joy to read, view and publish – thank you Benamon.

Over to you Benamon (foreword by Joanne Carter)…

‘The others avoided her, and even Babel let her be, his eyes could see the darkness she gathered round herself and the hunger for misery that had devoured all else she might have been and even the smallest hope that had launched her into this storm.

Like a floundering ship, her high hat its vain sails, she swayed and her eyes stared out into herself and a far shore that could not be reached. Her lips moved and muttered out a blur of word and deed, a calling from the depths, spilled from the images she cast into her mind and replaced without end to drag her down to tears’

Grand Flickr Group Showcase of 2014 – TheAppWhisperer – Mobile Photography

Share

We have just completed this epic showcase of The Best Mobile Photography and Art images of 2014. All of these images were in our favourites section of our Mobile Photography & Imagery Flickr Group. We have painstakingly worked our way through over 8,000 favourited images, from an original of over 115,000. No mean feat but by viewing this showcase you are assured of viewing the immense talent within the mobile photography and mobile art community. It is incredibly impressive.

Please do note that we have not been able to include everyones favourited images, there’s just too many, we have had to be very selective to condense it. Please be assured that if any of your images are in the Mobile Photography & Imagery favourited section, they’re there for one reason and one reason only, because they’re extremely good.

We really hope you enjoy this showcase, it has been great to compile and see how each artists’ images and ideas have changed through the months of 2014. These images represent every month of 2014, it really is an incredible showcase.
