“I only know how to approach a place by walking. For what does a street photographer do but walk and watch and wait and talk, and then watch and wait some more, trying to remain confident that the unexpected, the unknown, or the secret heat of the known awaits just around the corner.” Alex Webb
The theme of our next challenge is ‘Minimalism’ and will run until June 30th, 2016.
We hope you will enjoy this theme and that you may see your street environment in a new way and from a different perspective.
Often this way of capturing the streets entails finding an appropriate background, and then watching and waiting for the unexpected to appear within your frame.
We have included some examples with a reminder that you can be near or far from your subject. The idea is to keep the photo uncluttered and not to use too much app-ing, keeping within the definition of our StreetWise description and intention.
We look so forward to your submissions and remember to put in your title or description ‘StreetWise – Minimalism.’ You can submit up to 4 photos for this challenge.
