Today, I have been publishing the tutorials and demonstrations that we presented at The Photography Show on 24 March 2015 (Seminar 3, Day 2). We spent 20 minutes presenting those and for the final 10 minutes I played the video showcase of the curated entries to our special Flickr Group set up for the show. I will present that video this Sunday 29 March 2015. Moving on to the fourth and final seminar of our presentations at the show, we started with an incredible video by MaryJane Sarvis demonstrating her silk scarf creations originating from capturing images via her mobile phone. The audience were spellbound. Check out this video below…
I hope you’ve been following The Photography Show articles I have been posting, if not, please go here. We (Vivi and I) presented incredible material and the audience were totally capitvated. In our third seminar we included mobile art and photography tutorials, created by some of our Columnists. In this post I will recreate the tutorial by MaryJane Sarvis, editor of our Mobile Macro Column, that we presented to the audience on 24th March 2015. This is the second of four tutorials and demonstrations that we presented in Seminar 3 and we followed these with our incredible Flickr Group Showcase of curated images from our specially set up Flickr Group for the show, where we asked for new and unique images, we’ll be posting this once we have published all of the tutorials.
Yesterday I published details of my first talk at The Photography Show 2015, if you missed that (and it was in two parts, please go here and here). Today, I am publishing details of the Second Talk on Day 1. In Talk 2 I wanted to inform the audience of some of the main genres of mobile photography and the specific columns on TheAppWhisperer.com we have, to entice our readers.
During the preparation for the Show I contacted MaryJane Sarvis (who edits our mobile macro column), Bobbi McMurry (who edits our APPart column), Jennifer Bracewell (who edits our portraiture column) and Cara Gallardo Weil with Gina Costa (who edit our StreetsAhead column) if they could create a video explaining more about how their Columns integrate within TheAppWhisperer and to also, most importantly, pick out specific artists work of merit.
All of our columnists created absolutely fabulous videos, doing exactly as I had asked and adding their own unique individuality to each video. I have embedded each video below from Talk 2, before I played each one, I introduced the Columnist and explained a little more about the relevant Column. Each video played out on stage on a flat screen display, the audio was loud and all made a huge impact. Each member of the audience was in awe, the audience grew and grew with more people gathering as we continued within our time schedule.
This is the order the videos were played at The Photography Show 2015…
Huge congratulations to our APPart Color of the Day with Pantone Daily Challenge winner. Yesterday’s Color of the Day was Violet Quarts (18-1720) with the adjectives and nouns, ‘Endearing, Talented and Fair’. We feel that @maryjane428 – Mary Jane Sarvis captured the essence of these with this wonderful image seen below.
Today’s ‘Color of the Day’ is Orchid Mist (17-3612) and the accompanying descriptives are ‘Determined, Energetic and Fun Loving’. So, we would like to see your creations using this colour in combination with those words, if possible. It’s a challenge after all!
To take part in this challenge, please create an image and post it to Instagram and include the hashtag #taw_appart_coloroftheday we will select a winner and feature them each day!
We have just completed this epic showcase of The Best Mobile Photography and Art images of 2014. All of these images were in our favourites section of our Mobile Photography & Imagery Flickr Group. We have painstakingly worked our way through over 8,000 favourited images, from an original of over 115,000. No mean feat but by viewing this showcase you are assured of viewing the immense talent within the mobile photography and mobile art community. It is incredibly impressive.
Please do note that we have not been able to include everyones favourited images, there’s just too many, we have had to be very selective to condense it. Please be assured that if any of your images are in the Mobile Photography & Imagery favourited section, they’re there for one reason and one reason only, because they’re extremely good.
We really hope you enjoy this showcase, it has been great to compile and see how each artists’ images and ideas have changed through the months of 2014. These images represent every month of 2014, it really is an incredible showcase.
