We are extremely excited to announce Ocean Morisset @oceanstide has accepted our invitation to takeover our Instagram account for the next seven days. Morisset is a is a self-taught, award-winning photographer with nearly twenty years of experience specializing in Photojournalism and Documentary photography. A self described “humanitarian-with-a-camera”, Morisset also explores Fine Art photography and engages with a wide range of subjects in life, though his passion remain in telling stories with images. Morisset’s choice of subject matter reveals his humanitarianism, as he has a keen eye for the unnoticed and under-appreciated aspects of life, and presents them in a way that the viewer takes hold of the image for their own self-reflection.

Ocean Morisset is a Veteran of the the United States Air Force Reserves having served in Operation Desert Shield/Storm (1990-91) as a Medic. He has continued this career path in the civilian world taking care of people with HIV/AIDS at various medical institutions throughout New York City.

Each day, Morisset will publish three of his own images to our Instagram feed – @theappwhisperer and we can’t wait to view them!

Take a look at our Instagram feed, here, to follow all that he publishes!

Mobile Photography App Hydra 1.5 Brings Support for the Telephoto and front cameras on iPhone – We Have Promotional Codes!

Share

Hydra launched in 2015, pioneering the new category of computational photography apps for iPhone, by introducing 32 megapixel images shot with an 8-megapixel sensor and HDR photos with a wider dynamic range by merging up to 60 images together. These features made it a great companion to the built-in camera app for iPhone photography enthusiasts. Today, Creaceed, the developers of Hydra have released 1.5, a significant new update to their HDR photography app. Hydra 1.5 now features support for the telephoto and front cameras respectively in Zoom and Lo-Light/HDR modes.

Hydra lets users take beautiful pictures even in the most difficult lighting conditions using a variety of capture modes including HDR, Hi-Res, Lo-Light and Zoom. This is achieved by combining up to 60 frames to create a single high-quality picture.

With Hydra version 1.5, users’ feedback has been taken into account. Infact, shooting with the telephoto lens in Zoom mode and with the front camera for selfies in HDR/Lo-Light modes were two of the most popular requests from users.

“The front camera sensor typically is less capable than the rear camera one, and enabling multi-image fusion with Lo-Light and HDR modes allows selfie capture in situations where this would otherwise not be possible”, says Raphael Sebbe, Creaceed’s founder. Similarly, Hydra can now take advantage of the telephoto lens on compatible iPhone when shooting in Zoom mode (super resolution), enabling higher quality 2x and 4x, plus adding a new 8x zoom level.

Hydra retails for $4.99/£4.99 each in the iOS App Store and today we are offering the opportunity for you to win a free code. If you would like to try, please join our Twitter followers here, like us on Facebook here and Instagram here then post a comment to this post (on our website – so we can obtain your email address), perhaps you’d like to give us some feedback, tell us how we are doing, what you’d like to see and hopefully, we will then be able to send you a code. All winners are selected at random.

If you prefer to purchase the app, just go here.
