Instagram TAKEOVER with Ocean Morisset @oceanstide – Days 4 – 7 – As He Leaves Us…

Share

For the past week Ocean Morisset – @oceanstide has been publishing three of his images each day to our Instagram feed and it’s been winsome.

I personally asked mobile street photographer, Morisset to take over our Instagram account for seven days because he’s distinguished himself through sheer range. Morisset’s photography is never staged and I would venture, each image is captured in an instant. Perfectly balanced compositions are undoubtedly Morisset’s greatest strength and perhaps what I find most remarkable is the ability, he has, to establish immediate connections with his subjects, no matter how transient the encounter. Morisset’s street photography is as far away from clinical cold street photography as it is to fine art portraiture. There’s a sensitivity here, compassion for his subjects and deep trust in his own instincts. He gifts the viewer the freedom to imagine and interpret the development of his suggested stories.

Huge thanks to Ocean Morisset what a week it has been, thank you!

Today, we will announce a new Instagram TakeOver, again with a very talented mobile photographer, stand by for that!

To view the others, please head over to our Instagram account @theappwhisperer.

Instagram TakeOver with Street Photographer Clay Benskin, from New York City – Days 6 – 7

Share

Last week we started the first of our brand new format to our Instagram TakeOver’s and Clay Benskin – @clay_benskin performed impeccably. He agreed to publish three of his rousing street photography images per day and we have featured days 6 – 7 below.  Benskin’s’ key tropes include, people on the subway, people waiting, small groups, calm and chaotic. Sometimes the subjects are aware they’ve been captured in his frame, returning Benskin’s curious gaze, other times, they’re snatched portraits with subjects caught in movement or rumination. Benskin’s mobile street photography is a kind of visual, impressionistic diary of animated moments of modern day, New York City life. His images fill each viewer, with intensity, sharing a connection with the people he views, enlivening everyday scenes.

Huge thanks to Clay Benskin, what a week it has been viewing New York City, through your mobile lens, thank you!

Today, we will announce a new Instagram TakeOver, again with a very talented mobile photographer, stand by for that!

To view the others, please head over to our Instagram account – @theappwhisperer.

James Bacchi’s ‘In The Sky’ Mobile Photography Exhibited at FourSquared, Bay Area – August 25 – October 6, 2018

Share

We are very proud to announce that James Bacchi, a San Francisco-based gallerist, curator and mobile photographer, is one of sixteen artists exhibiting at FourSquared, Bay Area this summer/autumn. Bacchi has co-founded galleries in New York and San Francisco, most notably ON THE WALL in New York City and ArtHaus, an award-winning San Francisco-based contemporary arts gallery that he has co-owned with art dealer Annette Schutz for nearly 23 years. He is represented by Karyn Mannix Contemporary in East Hampton, NY. The #inthesky project can best be followed at www.instagram.com/jamesbacchi

#inthesky is an inspired series of mobile photographs. Shot spontaneously, these images capture tension from the ground up, and portray the volatile relationship between the sky and the urban landscape. Void of color, these melodramas contrast fleeting moments of beauty, strength and vulnerability, all of which takes place #inthesky.

FourSquared is a unique, structurally-constrained exploration of the works of sixteen Bay Area artists. Each of the artists produces sixteen small works, presented in sixteen clusters giving the audience the experience of sixteen micro solo exhibitions. No work is over $500.
