High Resolution Display May Well Be Coming To iPad 2 In Any Case
The rumors are still circulating, will the Apple iPad 2 actually have a higher resolution display or not? Some say no but many are now saying yes. The iBooks 1.1 application is being updated to support the higher resolution of 2048 by 1535 resolution, this is around the same resolution as the 27" Apple Cinema Display. There is also the additional rumor that the larger, 1536 pixel wide background tile would be app friendly in that it could scale to desktop resolutions, allowing a desktop app.
This is still speculative but interesting nonetheless. With the iPad 2 expected to ship in late March or early April 2011, it won’t be long until we find out for sure.
