Firemint is the independent app development studio that has produced some really great hits including Flight Control and Real Racing. Electronic Arts want to increase their ‘powerhouse of creative talent’ and decided to scoop up Firemint for a currently, undisclosed fee. EA also purchased Mobile Post Production quite recently.
We have no details of the costs involved to EA for this purchase, at the moment but Firemint has done incredibly well from its early start up days of 1999 when it was founded by Rob Murray. It employs around 60 people at the moment and is based in Melbourne, Australia.
