The iPad 3 Display Will Be 2048 x 1536 Resolution
With the PPI rurmored to be be more than 264 on the new iPad 3, twice the 132 PPI on the iPad 2, questions are beginning to arise as to whether display manufacturers such as Samsung or LG could produce them in large enough numbers. According to CNET this morning, ‘the closest that iPad display manufacturers like LG Display and Samsung can get is 2048×1536’. According to a ‘source’, via CNET, ‘they have production plans for 2048 x 1536 displays, starting in November but those are only plans at this point’, apparently the source was referring to LG and Samsung.
