The Queen Promotes Jony Ive To Sir Jonathan Ive

You’ve probably heard by now that Jony Ive, Senior Vice President of Industrial Design at Apple Inc, has received a KBE in the New Year Honors List but what you may not of realised, until now, was that Jony already had a CBE, received in 2006 for services to the design industry.

The KBE stands for Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire. An honor allowing the (male) individual, in this case, to use the title ‘Sir’ before their first name. Arise, Sir Jonathan Ive and many congratulations.
