Escape Velocity Apps (EVA) today is thrilled to announce the release of Audiolio 1.9, which now offers the ability for users to draw sketches which can be added to their notes. With this release, college students now have the ability to draw a sketch and attach it to the lecture they recorded, while business people can record their meetings and attach both written notes and sketches of concepts that were discussed.

Audiolio is an audio bookmarking, recording and note-taking app for iPad, useful for adding notes and bookmarks to recorded audio. Audiolio provides an easy, intuitive way to take minutes during business meetings or notes during school lectures and then share those notes via Dropbox, email or iTunes file sharing.

"Audiolio has become very popular among college students and business professionals, and the ability to add sketches was a feature highly requested by both groups," said Vince Oswalt of EVA. Speed Damon

Sunikazu Games, today, is pleased to announce Speed Damon 1.5 for iOS, an update to their side-scroller racing Game, where players must drive an off-road motorcycle the greatest distance possible by jumping over obstacles. Players have three touch options: a ramp/jump, a mid-air or street level bridge, and the ability to destroy obstacles by touching them. Featuring all black, white, and gray graphics and animation, small color accents lend style to the game. Speed Damon is designed for one to three players, displays dramatic silhouetted objects and requires quick reflexes to reach distances over 250 meters.

Played in landscape orientation, this side-scroller employs four layers of animation, which produce a convincing sense of depth. The three scrolling layers include the foreground in black silhouette, the midground in light gray, and the background in dark gray. Objects in the foreground seem to move by faster than those in the midground, and much faster than those in the background. The fourth layer contains the player’s black motorcycle, which remains center screen and moves only in the vertical direction, and the black cars, which speed by moving only in the horizontal direction.

The action takes place on a suburban highway with stores, houses, and gas stations along the road. The player’s motocross bike maintains a constant speed, and always remains in the horizontal center as the background rushes past. Driving at street level, the bike keeps both wheels on the road, but at all other times players perform wheelies while executing take-offs, jumps, and landings.

Buddy’s Garage

Kelp Mobil, a small German mobile app developer, today announced the release of Buddy’s Garage, a well-rounded Top Trumps game for iPhone and iPod touch, featuring 32 classic cars built from the 60ies to the 80ies. Users can chose to either play as single players or with their friends on a Bluetooth connection. The game offers a photo-realistic UI and other power features, like a tunable player strength. Kelp Mobil previously had released their successful first Top Trumps game, Gaz Guzzlers.

An easy-to-use UI:
Buddy’s Garage offers a clean tabbed UI sticking to iPhone standards, which lets users immediately focus on gaming activity instead of keep searching for features. It comes with elaborate animations, e.g., after each draw, both cards flow in from the sides, played values get highlighted and upon pressing the OK button, both vanish to the winner’s side. All gaming action is backed by sound effects, so users are not forced to focus the screen any time they play. Game sounds may be switched off without affecting other personal device-specific audio preferences.

Its infinitely adjustable player strength is a unique feature amongst card game apps presently on the market. While playing versus the iPhone or iPod, users may fine-tune their personal player strength from "Beginner" level throughout to "Formula-1-Champ". The higher the level they choose, the stronger the opponent’s values are selected. This setting even affects running games.

Scores, dates and duration of the last 16 games played are listed under the highscore tab. Score counts earned by each draw are calculated on a time-based algorithm: the longer the player needs to play a card, the fewer points he will earn. The single player mode also factors in the computer’s player strength when calculating the points.

Planet Minesweeper

Tapnik quietly launched "Planet Minesweeper" for in the iTunes App Store in early December. Since then, it has been downloaded over 130,000 times. Players have completed over 1.7 million games – that’s over five years of combined playtime. What makes this game so addicting? "I played until my hands were numb," says one reviewer.

Planet Minesweeper takes the familiar minesweeper puzzle mechanic and wraps it around a spherical planet. It features cutting edge ES2 shaders and includes support for retina and HD iPad graphics, including an extra-large "Huge" planet size available exclusively on iPad. The game boasts a custom soundtrack from Hyperduck Soundworks, and Game Center leaderboards let players compare their best times with others. Packed with variety, Planet Minesweeper has three difficulty levels, from "normal" difficulty which offers a well balanced challenge to "insane" level, of which fewer than 0.1% of games result in victory. Planets span four gorgeous art styles and background themes.

A fresh update released this week brings tighter controls–including smooth planet rotation physics–and a newly redesigned "fast flag mode" to make flagging spaces simpler than ever.

Everything that makes storybooks magical is packaged with inspired animation and touchscreen interactivity, using technology to bring readers closer than ever to the action.

Already ramping up record downloads, Morotobi’s Adventure has been hailed as an entertaining and educational way to encourage a love of reading in little ones. Wind expert

Wind expert 1.2 for iPad and iPhone is the only app that brings together a large range of wind turbine products, and enables wind farm performance and financial analysis. The app also features a comprehensive database of links to relevant associations, toolkits, government incentives and in-depth market reports.

It is an essential tool for wind energy professionals, and an ideal companion for renewable energy students and enthusiasts. At a minimal cost, Wind expert can assist decision-making and boost a wind project return on investment.

There is a sense of secrecy about the performance of wind energy. Manufacturers tend to present their product specifications in different formats and use different performance measures. Wind expert allows users to build their own wind turbines or select a product within the app built-in database (over 270 to chose from). A simple and efficient user interface has been devised to go through project specification and detailed analysis including power curve, energy production, return on investment and cost of energy. A selection of tools and links are also available to provide a full overview and understanding of the wind energy market.
