With the announcement of the Surface tablet from Microsoft this week and to great acclaim, this latest news that their app store has now reached over 100,000 apps is very impressive. Don’t forget this app store has only been up and running since October 2010 so that’s not bad. Microsoft has also been courting the likes of major game developers, Zynga and Gameloft to name a few, who will be porting their apps over to the new Windows OS 8 system very soon.
One of the key features of the new version of Windows phone will be the Skype integration. It will be so deep that it will appear as if you’re making a regular call but of course you’ll be using VoIP. This is something we think will roll over to other platforms too, despite the carriers displeasure.
