JC – Let’s start at the beginning of the day, how does your day start?

AM – I usually get up around 6.30 am. Between morning coffee and shower, I like to check my e-mails and social networks updates, and before going to work, I like to share one of my last pics. I have a kind of motto : a pic a day.

JC – Do you like to head out and take photographs early on?

AM – It is something that I like and I can do during my travels. A sunny day with cloudy sky or some fog are a good motivation.

Photographer vs Mobile Photographer

JC – How did the transition from traditional photographer to iPhoneographer develop? (pardon the pun).

AM – I am a self taught photographer, inspired by foreign countries that I visit. So most of my pictures were taken during my holidays abroad. In september 2010, I took the opportunity of my broken DSLR to try the camera of my brand new iPhone. I enjoyed it immediately for my street shots and realized it was a new and innovative way to take pictures and to revisit my hometown.

New Apps

JC – Do you like to download new iPhoneography apps regularly?

AM – I used to do that, at the beginning, hoping to find the super apps I needed to express myself. So I got a lot of apps that I don’t use at all.

JC – Where’s your favorite place in the world for a shoot?

AM – I would say India. It’s so exciting to discover this amazing country (actually a sub-continent!) and meet this photogenic people, so pleased to be photographed. But for an everyday shot, Paris, my city where I have to stay most of the time, is not bad.

Tools Of The Trade

JC – What are your top five tips for iPhone photography?

AM – It is hard to say, looking myself for some tips, especially for post-processing. Maybe I can give an advice “go out and try not to be shy”.

Editing

JC – Do you edit images on your iPhone or do you prefer to do that on a desktop/laptop?

AM – I am not a purist and I prefer to check how my photos look like on a big screen. So my first pictures were edited on desktop. I was amazed to get the best of them. Now I prefer to use my iPhone or for more comfort, my iPad. And the result is funnier and more creative.
