Getty Images – Creative Grants Offered With Additional Award of $20k for Work that Focuses on Empowering Women and Girls
As you will be aware we are expanding at a rate of knots here at theappwhisperer.com to ensure that our readers are fully aware of as many opportunities as possible relating to their mobile photography and art. One of our new areas will bring you details of creative grants and residencies available throughout the world for artists. We’re starting today with an outstanding opportunity from Getty Images. They offer two grants of $20,000 to non profit organisations each year but this year inspired by their partnership with Lean In, they have made available an additional $20,000 to be shared by the photographer and creative agency whose joint proposal is to develop imagery for a nonprofit of their choosing which focuses on issues related to empowering women, girls, their families and communities.
Getty explain ‘Grant recipients may use the entire award to offset shoot and other campaign expenses, or donate all or part of the funds directly to their charity and contribute their own time and resources to their campaign. At the completion of the project, the photographer or filmmaker and the communications agency involved will be showcased, alongside the nonprofit who benefits from their efforts, to the media and to our customers’.
The online entry system will open on April 1, 2014 and close on May 15, 2014.
