Rosalie Heller Joins our Mobile Photographer & Artists Portfolio Profiles

We are building the largest and most comprehensive portfolio of mobile photographers and mobile artists in the world and we are delighted to welcome Rosalie Heller’s portfolio today. She explains “I have always loved art.  As a teenager growing up in America, I spent countless hours at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, getting lost in great art, as if I were in the scene of an artists painting. I focused on small sections trying to understand light, shadow, texture and color.  I had found an escape from an abusive childhood and tapped into my soul and my own creativity, realizing where I fit in the world. It felt like home and I was in heaven! I purchased my first SLR film camera in my 40’s and discovered medium format in my 50’s. My kitchen became a makeshift darkroom after my children were asleep. Into the wee hours of the morning I developed and printed on German fiber based papers for their richness and texture. I devoured books by Edward Weston along with many other classic black and white photographers. Through their photographs they became my mentors. I never imagined that I would be swept up in the digital movement until I discovered that the mobile phones and tablets were creative tools… I was hooked.   My finger becomes a brush and I am a painter, and I can work my images as if I were back in my darkroom.  I try to make the ordinary seem extraordinary. My mobile art expresses how I see the world and who I have become”. View her portfolio profile here.
