Mobile Photography – App of the Day – GIVEAWAY – Pixelmator for iOS worth $4.99 – Updated to Version 2.5

Last week the Pixelmator Team released a major update to Pixelmator for iOS, the full-featured, powerful, and fast image editor for iPad and iPhone. Pixelmator 2.5 adds a brand new, Files-based document browser, bringing simpler and more familiar document management, a new photo browser that makes it easier to browse and open images from your Photos library, and new image size presets that let you quickly create new images with common sizes.

“Today’s update makes it easier than ever to create and edit images on the go using Pixelmator,” said Tomas Andrijauskas, the lead developer of Pixelmator for iOS. “The new Files-based document browser makes it easier to manage all your Pixelmator files, the new image size presets let you quickly create new images with common sizes, and the new Photos browser brings a way to easily open and edit images in your Photo library. We think our users are going to really love these changes.”

The new Files-based document browser adds great new features that make it a breeze to open images and manage the ones you create using Pixelmator. You can now search for files by name, tag them, and quickly view your recently opened files. You can also choose different locations for different files, using iCloud Drive for some and your device storage for others. And, if you use third-party storage providers, you’ll now be able to save files there more easily than ever.

The all-new Photos browser was designed to take full advantage of all the screen real estate your device has to offer, displaying more of the images in your library while providing an incredibly familiar browsing experience inspired by the Photos app. The browser displays your albums just as they appear in Photos and lets you preview any image so you can compare similar photos before opening them. And you can even mark photos as favorites right in the browser.

To speed up creating new images with common sizes, Pixelmator now includes a collection of the most commonly used image size presets. The presets are organized into categories, including paper, photo, web, devices, and common social media sizes. The templates that come with Pixelmator for adding frames, effects, or instantly creating collages are now neatly organized in a separate Templates category.
