Introducing the Jury for our Mobile Symphonies Photography & Art Exhibition

Share

We are delighted to introduce our jury for our Mobile Symphonies Photography & Art Exhibition. Our new Mobile Symphonies Exhibition will explore the influence music has upon your digital art. We hope to feature digital paintings and photographs that have been moulded into complex experiences relevant to our theme, drawing a direct connection in the minds of the viewers.

Our Exhibition will feature juried selected images, focusing on the connection between music & visual art. Music that is instantly recognisable within the image will be selected, representing a pure and honest connection. It is the collaboration of music and digital art that is explicit in this exhibition, raising awareness and eliciting empathy for matters at stake, one that our visually literate audience will surely adore and aspire to.

The Call:

We invite you to create a maximum of 3 images in homage to or in the spirit of an iconic song, piece of music or album. All images must be captured and edited with mobile devices only, and must be your own work (i.e., they may not incorporate stock or other art created by someone else). The selected images will be chosen by an esteemed jury and exhibited on TheAppWhisperer’s prestigious online gallery. All proceeds of the call will go to Save Our Venues, a Music Venue Trust that represents independent UK music venues who are being devastated financially as a result of the current lockdown.

We can’t wait to see what kind of music inspires your art.

To Enter:

Entry Fee: £10 suggested. Give what you are able, at the following link: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/save-our-venues-national-campaign?fbclid=IwAR2LArsQlnLZVXsnD17dtW2D1sCeMfbYQX9lLDwao4r_1MgOq_RCHW82b8k

Then, post your images here in this FB group for consideration by the jury. Tell us in your caption about the song, composition or album associated with of your images.

Clint Cline

I am a Florida-based artist, designer, and writer.

I make abstract art from digital images of everyday subjects and combine them with textures, colors, forms, and mixed media I find or create. I use this method to explore my Christian faith and its intersection with life, as well as contemporary and timeless cultural themes.

For me, color, shape, and form in an abstract are just words without noise and I use them to speak things I have considered in my heart but which have yet to find voice any other way.

My art background includes work in a variety of media from collage and mixed media, to gouache, oils, watercolour, pen and ink, and pencil. Editorial photography became a necessary skillset in my work as a reporter just as Commercial photography later became a staple of my career as an advertising creative director. I have been able to combine my personal artistic journey through both art and photography within the new digital medium of iPhonic art.

Exhibitions where my work has been invited include: Exposition d’Iphonographie in Venarey, France (Jury Award); Worldwide iPhoneography Art Movement (WiAM), Naples, Italy; SoHo Gallery of Digital Design, New York City, NY; LA Mobile Arts Festival, Los Angeles, CA; “Lens as Palette” Exhibition, Denver, CO; and #MOBIU1023 Experience, Chicago, IL.

I am a founding artist with The International iPhoneography Group (TIiG), and NEM: The New Era Museum. I am also an administrator and guest curator for MAG_Mobile Art Group.

Peter Wilkin

Peter Wilkin

Peter Wilkin lives with his family deep within Brontë country in West Yorkshire, England. His art is strongly influenced by his experiences & insights gained during a lengthy career as a psychiatric nurse & psychotherapist. Any therapeutic journey, he believes, involves a search for the hidden self, a true representation of oneself that lies buried beneath a raft of protective mechanisms.

It is this very concept that drives his art, as he deconstructs the original image to build a comprehensive visual narrative, burrowing beneath the gloss until the whole, colourful story emerges. Creating images in this way, he explains, involves a willingness at some point to hand over the ‘brushes’ to the inner child. In these interludes of free play his imagination runs riot & the art becomes a fusion of honesty, curiosity & adventure.

Wilkin’s recent successes include the ‘Forced Captivity’ exhibition at Le Petite Galerie, Rue de Seine, Paris 2018, the MIRA Mobile Prize at the MIRA Gallery, Porto 2019, the “A circum- navegação na palms do mão” exhibition at the Mosteiro de Santa Maria de Salzedaz, Portugal 2019 & the ‘Mare Nostrum’ exhibition at Le Petite Galerie, Rue de Seine, Paris 2019. Earlier this year he gained three Honourable Mentions in the MPA Awards, followed by 1st prize in the Mobile Essay Awards.

When he is not creating art he is busy co-editing the ‘Draw the Line’ column at TheAppWhisperer.com & acting as a moderator & administrator for @ig_artistry on Instagram & their sister group on Facebook, Edit from the the Soul. He is also a moderator for the MAG_MobileArt group & has judged several of their mobile art challenges. Outside the artistic field he is a published poet & co-author of the children’s novel, ‘Briannca and the Crystal Dragons’.

Lorenka Campos

Lorenka Campos

While studying Fine Art and Graphic Design in the 90s, Lorenka fell in love with the introspection and solitude of photography. The magic of the darkroom and Photoshop’s endless manipulative possibilities inspired her graphic medium.  As technology progressed with the iPhone, this love naturally propelled her toward the freedom of the mobile art movement. Lorenka’s use of photographs, paint and drawings are intricately layered and manipulated to reveal her own personal story.  She has won multiple awards, participated in scores of international exhibits and has been featured in numerous media publications in the US and abroad. Lorenka currently lives in Wichita Falls, Texas USA.
