Ember – New Digital Scrapbook App – For Mac
Ember is a brand new Mac app from the developers of Clear and Rapid Weaver. It allows you to Drag in images from your Mac and around the web, and organise them into Collections. Apply tags to images, and build Smart Collections based on the tags and other metadata in your library.
Whether you’re collecting images for a project, screenshots for a client, or any other type of image, Ember’s organisational tools make it incredibly easy to group your images together. You can even save straight to collections from the Ember Browser Extensions.
As well as extensions for Safari and Chrome, Ember has its own built-in web browser. It’s built specifically to make snapping areas of the page even easier!
The smart element detection automatically suggests areas to snap as you roll over the page. Just click to select an area (and adjust the selection if needed) to save it to your library.
The Ember browser is fully resizable too – allowing you to snap the website (or any elements of the page) at any width. We’ve even included some handy presets for your favourite Apple devices so that you can snap responsive websites at device-specific widths.

I bought LittleSnapper on MAS last Christmas. I love it. It’s really fast and beautiful and very easy to organize a huge collection of pictures. But I not going to upgrade to Ember, because it’s a lot of money for an upgrade. Although the names are different but LS does the job I need. If there is iOS/Dropbox sync maybe I will reconsider.
