Competition – The Art of Building Photo Contest – With Special Mobile Category – Free To Enter – £3,000 Top Prize
The Art of Building photo contest is an international showcase for the very best digital photography of the built environment. It is open to both professional and amateur photographers above the age of 18. They accept entries from anywhere in the world. Entrants can submit up to three photographs across any of the categories.
The competition is run by the Chartered Institute of Building and celebrates the creativity of the industry, the passion of the people who work within it, and the impact their work has on those who make use of the final construction. They want to see photos that inspire others to look at and appreciate the built world around them.
Categories:
Building Inspiration: For images that focus on the architecture of buildings. Photographs in this category showcase the design of a building. This could be anything from an individual element to an entire cityscape.
Between People and Buildings: This category explores the relationship people have with the built environment. Entries capture a public or industry perspective of the interaction between people and building’s.
Creative Visions: The built environment is a product of human imagination, invention and talent. Creative Visions is the category that gives a unique and sometimes abstract perspective of the urban world around us.
Smartphone / Tablet: What can you capture with a mobile device? This is a new category aimed at photographers on the move who can eke out every ounce of creativity their smartphone or tablet has to offer.
Young Photographer of the Year: For those between 18 and 25 and who might be starting out on a career in photography, or an amateur enthusiast, this category is also open to you.

PRIZE DETAILS: £3,000 cash prize.
COPYRIGHT: Entrants will retain copyright of their imagery at all times and will always be credited alongside their picture.
All images must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have a won a prize in any other photographic competition.
It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure the images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party. Entrants must warrant that they own the copyright for the photograph and that their entry does not infringe the privacy rights, copyright or any other rights of any person.
USAGE RIGHTS: By entering this competition, regardless of whether you are selected as a winner or not, you agree to grant the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) a royalty-free, non-exclusive license to publish your images. This includes the right to publish entries in CIOB marketing material both online and in print, annual reviews, magazines, books, newsletters (electronic and print), websites, calendars, posters and postcards. The CIOB will ensure that all photographers receive full credit alongside their photograph.
By entering this competition, you accept that your photograph(s), if selected, will be reproduced as a limited print and auctioned to raise funds for the Article 25 Haiti School Project.
By entering this competition, you accept that your photograph(s) may be exhibited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or other exhibitions organised or attended by the CIOB in relation to The Art of Building competition. The CIOB reserves the right to mount and frame entries for exhibition purposes.
By entering the competition your imagery will be used in a range of public and media relations work to raise the profile of the competition and those who enter. Where possible the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) strives to ensure at all times the photographer is credited within external media.
