TheAppWhisperer – APPart – ‘Infinite Challenge #1’ by Bobbi McMurry
Welcome to our APPart Infinite Challenge #1 results. This challenge was an attempt to illustrate how infinite the possible solutions are to any given image. Variations within the artist’s style, the applications used, the artist’s perceptions and intent are just some of the factors that influence the results. We asked the members of our Facebook group to choose one of two images provided by Stef LP as a starting point. From there, new photos could be added, and any app could be used. “I chose the second of Stef ‘s images. I worked on it in Snapseed and iColorama, mainly the latter – using Mirror, Simplify, Distort and probably a few other features along the way”.

“Parlor Game. I multiplied and blended Stef on a cylinder in SBP. I used Mirage for the perspective image on table. Over for the words”.

“I combined the image with my images using Diana. Then I used Pixelmatr, Procreate, iColorama, Stackables and Diana again. I couldn’t begin to say more than that, I did not have any intent, I was just playing around”.

“First was resizing to portrait. Using pic say pro i bulged the belly area and stretched the lower part. I went into Superimpose. Using three of my photos i superimposed them working opacity. Masking out areas accordingly. I superimposed the final image to get some difference in layer. Opacity brought way down. I tweaked in snapseed but wasn’t satisfied. Opted to take it into my iPad. Used iColorama -coherence 1- 35 Luts -? Enhance -? Low opacities Finished with pastel”.

‘She took her dancing serious. Even though she had duck feet’.

Bobbi McMurry
Bobbi McMurry received her BFA from Arizona State University where she focused on painting, drawing, and printmaking. After graduating, she spent many years as an Art Director for custom and newsstand magazines. She has recently rekindled her passion for creating personal images and has gravitated to the world of mobile art. Her work has been accepted into numerous juried exhibitions, and has been recognized in mobile art competitions including The Third Wave and the Mobile Photo Awards. Additionaly, her work is part of the current iPhonic Art Exhibit at Markham Vinyards in California. She has been featured on mobile photography blogs, and recently became a columnist for The App Whisperer. Bobbi lives and works in Phoenix, Arizona.
