Many thanks for this inspiration, and for including my portrait of Meri Walker, ‘Are You With Me?”.
As a source, I used a piece of a photo sent to me by Meri, to begin the portrait. I was doing a brief live demonstration of painting in iColorama, on an iPad Air 2, for of group of Meri’s students in her wildly successful mobile digital arts class at the Idlewild Arts Summer Program. We shared the experience via FaceTime. On this end, I was using my Mac to transmit the over-the-shoulder camera view. I continued working on the portrait, long after the demonstration ended.
It was challenging to try to explain the nuts and bolts, to others, while working, of what is a primarily an instinctive process for me. I have spent much time building images in iColorama, and I am usually not aware of the interface or conscious of the steps that I take.
I continue to be inspired by the artists’ work curated in the App Whisperer Showcases. Thanks, Joanne!!
