UK Government Refused Steve Jobs A Knighthood

Jobs was put forward for the honor by the MP for services to technology. The Knighthood proposal was in the final stages of approval when Downing Street blocked it after Steve Jobs refused to speak at a Labour Party Conference.

Even if Steve had received the Knighthood he would not of been able to call himself Sir Steve Jobs as it is considered ‘improper’ outside of the British honors system to address a person as Sir or Dame if they are not of British nationality.
