Rumor – Get A Free iPad With A Mac

Well that’s one of the rumors currently circulating regarding the upcoming WWDC. The rumors stem from BGR who report:

"We have been told Apple will continue to offer educational discounts on computers and either a free iPod touch, or $229 towards the purchase of any other iPod. Our source also let us know that there might be something new in the works, as well… they heard that it’s possible Apple might offer students up to $200 off an iPad with the purchase of a new Mac".

Traditionally Apple have announced The Back To School program in late May or early June. WWDC is starting on June 6 this year and with expected annoucements of Lion and iOS 5 this could make a fitting incentive.

Previously the Back to School program allowed students to pick up a free 8GB iPod Touch. Picking up a free iPad 2 though could just be the thing to propel Apple to the ultimate accolade of the computer provider to the educational market. Just imagine a cool MacBook Air with a free iPad – yes please.
