Samsung’s New 7.7 inch Tablet Banned By German Court

Reuters has reported this mornning that on September 2, 2011 a Dusseldorf court ordered Samsung to stop selling their new 7.7 Galaxy Tab. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 was already banned in Germany in late August with a final ruling due on September 9, 2011.

A Samsung spokesman, James Chung went on to say "The product is not on sale yet but we’ve decided to respect the court order".

This would explain why the above said tablet was reportedly removed sudenly from the shelves at the annual IFA electronics show in Berlin.

Apple and Samsung are continuing to battle it out over their smartphones and patents and Apple is doing everything it can to try to subdue the growth of Android from taking a larger chunk out of its business. Apple insists that Samsung ‘slavishly’ copied their design, look and feel. Samsung continue to fight back by counter suing Apple arguing that Apple infringed its wireless patents.

So far only one product made by Samsung has escaped the wrath of Apple and that’s the Samsung Galaxy Note – it’s a 5.3 inch touchscreen device running Google’s Android OS.
