News – Apple’s iPhone 5 Will Have Larger 4.6-inch Display
Reuters are reporting this morning that following a South Korean media report, the new Apple iPhone, presumably named the iPhone 5, will have a bigger 4.6-inch retina display and will launch in the second quarter of 2012.
The Maeil Business Newspaper reports that ‘Apple has decided on the bigger 4.6-inch display for its next iPhone and has started placing orders to its suppliers’.
Apple’s major suppliers are LG Display and Samsung Electronics Co, characteristically they both declined to comment.
If you’ve seen the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone, then you will be aware that this device uses a 4.6-inch OLED display, hopefully we’ll be seeing a high definition retina display in the new iPhone some time soon…
