Mattel are best known as toy manufacturers and what they have created are apps for your iPad with toys to use on your iPad, ensuring a truly interactive experience, pretty neat. There are some great new apps available for this purpose, aimed at the 8-12 year old child. These include very popular titles including Angry Birds, Hot Wheels, WWE and Batman.

The toys themselves are carefully designed to compliment your iPad and not cause any damage to the screen. The child literally drives the hot wheel car across the screen in the Hot Wheels game or uses their WWE wrestler toy to combat the onscreen version for example.

A recent study showed that one in eight children in the UK between the ages of 8-12 years old own a tablet computer. This is a great figure and we also know that another study based in the UK and US showed that 39% of adults with iPad’s downloaded apps for their children. I would imagine that this figure is even higher and is certainly expected to grown at an expedited rate.

Children are embracing new technology and it is encouraged in schools too. These fun apps and toys from Mattel give children vital down time and a great experience. The full apptivity collection will be available in the App Store by mid-September.
