Surreal Photography – Creating The Impossible – Book

We’ve just received a copy of this book (thank you so much Janine) and it is really such a good read and visual treat. It’s not completely based around mobile photography but that does play a significant part. The primary feature of this book is Surreal Photography and whether you have started the process with your mobile, DSLR, compact it’s doesn’t matter because the tutorials thereafter are based on your capture medium. Janine Graf’s tutorial ‘One Step and Then The Next Get You Where You’re Going’ is in-depth, there are also many photoshop tutorials by many other photographers including, Natalie Dybisz, Jon Jacobsen and Patrick Desmet.

This book reveals the latest developments in the field and demystifies the techniques used by modern surreal photographers, whether you favour straight-out-of-the-camera surrealism or sophisticated digital manipulations. Breaking down the shooting and editing process so any reader can follow, this book provides step-by-step instructions for creating extraordinary scenes.

This book retails for $22.95/£17.99 and you can order via Amazon from here.

Joanne Carter, creator of the world’s most popular mobile photography and art website—— TheAppWhisperer platform has been a pivotal cyberspace for mobile artists of all abilities to learn about, to explore, to celebrate and to share mobile artworks. Joanne’s compassion, inclusivity, and humility are hallmarks in all that she does, and is particularly evident in the platform she has built. Her experience as a jurist for mobile art competitions includes: Portugal, Canada, US, S Korea, UK and Italy. And her travels pioneering the breadth of mobile art includes key events in: Frankfurt, Naples, Amalfi Coast, Paris, Brazil, London. The online gallery specialises in prints for discerning collectors of unique, previously unseen signed limited edition art. Her journey towards becoming The App Whisperer, includes (but is not limited to) working for a paparazzi photo agency for several years and as a deputy editor for a photo print magazine.
