Mobile Photography & Art – My Top Five Apps by Sukru Mehmet Omur from Turkey


We are revitalising our Top Five Apps section to our Photo App Lounge column. This a section within TheAppWhisperer where we ask highly accomplished mobile photographers and artists to list their top five apps and to explain why they have selected them. Kicking us off today is accomplished mobile photographer and artist from Turkey, Sukru Mehmet Omur.  Take a look at his Top Five Apps… (foreword by Joanne Carter)

“It is not easy to answer this question because I have more than four hundred iPhone photography and art Apps on my iPhone, iPad and to narrow it down to just five is a real challenge. And those top five change all the time.

This is a full-featured image editing app like  Filterstorm, Superimpose and similar. It is a sophisticated App like iColorama but much easier.



Snapseed is a must. I use it for all my images before sharing on social media. I use generally the dramatic, HDR, Black and white, fine tuning and sharpening modes.


Aerograph, Glaze and Stackables

Now I use Aerograph, Glaze and Stackables apps frequently. This is because my experience changes, I do much more layering and collages. I am sure that next year I will be using five other Apps. It’s really very difficult to restrict my selection to five Apps but I can say that these five for instance are my favorites App.

Aerograph gives me a good base shapes for abstractions.

Glaze is extraordinary for art textures.

Stackables is the best texture and gradient color filter App. And you can layer as much as you want. You can create your own filter. So It’s my best filter App.
