DxOMark Image Labs Discloses Quadruple-Camera Setups to Come…
We’re close with DxO Mark Image Labs, my partner (Kevin) is their technology editor and we both know the team personally. Nicolas Touchard their VP of Marketing recently spoke with online tech site, AndroidHeadlines recently about his predictions for the mobile photography industry. “Quadruple-camera setups on smartphones are not a question of “if” but “when” he said. The Huawei P20 Pro was the first to market handset released with three lenses, Touchard went on to say “imaging systems comprised of multiple cameras are a logical method of circumventing the physical limitations of handsets – their inability to house large sensors while remaining relatively thin”. He added “Smartphones with three lenses on their rear plates will hence become much more numerous “as early as next year”. DxO Mark awarded the Huawei P20 Pro their highest award with a score of 109, surpassing the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and Google Pixel 2 earlier this year.
