1197 – Awesome One-Day Mobile & iPhone Photography Conference

"You constantly hear these lamentations about the death of journalism. It doesn’t look like that to me.
It looks like the birth of journalism." – Teru Kuwayama

You’ll hear this and more whether you attend the conference remotely or in person. I’m even going to be interviewed for it myself – so you’ve got to attend!

Richard Koci Hernandez (@koci) and Dan Cristea (@konstruktivist) will be presenting a unique iPhoneography workshop focusing on creating unique photographic shooting and post processing techniques, using only iPhones and iPads. Fill up your Camera Roll and bring it with you to the event so they can show you how turn those snapshots into mobile phone masterpieces. They’ll lead participants through a series of hands-on tutorials where participants will process images from their camera roll alongside the presenters. Participants will learn to use the ‘right’ app for any particular shoot and develop a more critical eye by being introduced to tips and tricks on lighting and composition. They put these workshops on as lofimode.com, will also be leading photo walks throughout the event.

In the afternoon, we’ll have talks about journalism, photo techniques, engineering, and the user experience of mobile photography. Mo’ prizes. You’ll be taking photos and interacting with your fellow 1197’ers the whole time. There will be legit Wifi, since we all know AT&T in SF is a joke.
