The Photographer’s Ephemeris – Updated
The Photographer’s Ephemeris (TPE) helps you plan outdoor photography shoots in natural light, particularly landscape and urban scenes. It’s a map-centric sun and moon calculator: see how the light will fall on the land, day or night, for any location on earth.
We often mention this app in our A Day In The Life interviews, it always throws up some great responses. If you’ve missed those, go here to read them.
TPE has been updated with iPhone 5 and IOS 6 support but there’s also a ton of other new features. Check out What’s New below. This is a free update, if you have previously downloaded this app. If not, you can download it here. It retails for $8.99/£6.99/download.

– Locations can be imported from KML or KMZ files (choose Open In… TPE from email, web page, etc.)
– Adds MapQuest Open Street Map as a new overlay map option

– Overlay maps can be stored for use offline by enabling the Offline Store setting and viewing the required maps

Locations import/export via KML/KMZ allows you to backup and share your locations across devices, with TPE for Desktop and with other navigation apps such as the Google Earth™ mapping service.
Offline map storage is available for Topographic maps plus the two new map type options added in this version (OSM and Open Aerial).
