Mobile Art – APPart Interview with Wanphen Sangkamee aka: Gummy
We are huge fans of Wanphen Sangkamee aka: Gummy’s mobile artwork here at TheAppWhisperer and absolutely adore this interview between our APPart editor, Bobbi McMurry and Gummy. Please sit down, put your feet up and enjoy this wonderful article with us, for a few minutes in your day (foreword by Joanne Carter). Key: Bobbi Gummy I love animals though cows and fish aren’t likely to be top of mind when I think of them that is unless they created by Wanphen Sangamee. There’s a sense of childlike honesty in her painterly strokes and simplistic palette that I don’t see very often within the realms of mobile art. Picasso once said,…

Photography – TriggerTrap Goes Out of Business…
I am saddened to report that TriggerTrap, a company that we have highlighted many times here at TheAppWhisperer, over the years, (see here), has announced that it has failed. It was launched in 2011 and its initial Kickstarter campaign raised over $500,000, which was well past its $77,000 goal. But, it seemed that that achievement was also its undoing. In 2015 Triggertrap announced that it would not be able to deliver to its backers due to under estimating the costs of developing and manufacturing the new trigger. In a blog post on Medium published yesterday, Triggertrap founder and CEO Haje Jan Kamps said that his company had been treading water…
National Geographic – How Instagram is Changing Travel
This is an interesting article about how Instagram is changing travel in National Geographic magazine. Now six years old, Instagram has more than 500 million active users sharing an average of 80 million photos a day. Clearly we have an appetite for imagery, and it’s influencing our travel decisions. “I see this desire to escape to these landscapes, to do something real, because more than ever everyone is buried in their phones,” says photographer Corey Arnold (@arni_coraldo), who shot the October 2016 cover story for National Geographic magazine. “But where do they get the inspiration to travel? Instagram.” To read more, please go here.
