Instagram – Chicago South Side – Stories from Jon Lowenstein
Jon Lowenstein (@jonlowenstein) is a photographer that I much admire. Fifteen years ago he started an assignment based around Chicago’s South Side. As a new resident, he started photographing the community with an SX-70 and 4×5 cameras, leaving Polaroid images with his neighbours, he became known as the ‘Photoman’. He transformed vacant apartments within his housing complex into community exhibition spaces called “The Island”, and taught photography classes at a local elementary school. “When I started the project on the South Side, analog was the only way to go. Instagram Introduces New Creative Tools
Instagram have brought a set of new creative tools to Instagram with the ability to adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, warmth and more. When you select a filter, you’ll now see a new wrench icon. Tap it and you’ll find a tray of photo editing tools ready for you to explore. You can also adjust how much of a filter you apply to a photo by double tapping the filter icon. Instagram for iOS version 6.0 is now available in Apple’s App Store, and Instagram for Android version 6.0 is available on Google Play.

Pixol for iPhone – App Giveaway!
Pixol launched today, essentially it’s a photographic puzzle game allowing you to play on Instagram with up to 25 players and 120 images. This is a developing app and we’re sure it will grow considerably.
