Short Film Competition – BAFTA Qualifying ASFF 2015
BAFTA Qualifying ASFF 2015 is now open for entries. Looking for filmmakers who are driving the genre of short film forward through inspirational and innovative works. Many of you have already seen our new segment to our APPart column here at TheAppWhisperer, edited by Bobbi McMurry. We would like to inspire all mobile artists to create one image a day using the selected colour of Pantone’s ‘Color of the Day’ – see here (we will announce the colour each day). Adobe’s New ‘Project Rigel’, says Goodbye to Photoshop Touch App
Yesterday, Adobe announced that as of next week Photoshop Touch will no longer be available in iTunes, Google Play and other app libraries. If you have previously purchased this product, it will still work but Adobe will no longer update it. The last major update to Photoshop Touch was in 2012. I reviewed both the iPad and Android versions of this app for DPreview in 2011 and 2012, (see here). We are excited about Adobe’s codenamed ‘Project Rigel’, there are plans for image retouching on a mobile device extending up to 50-megapixels , presumably via the cloud. Photo Competition – Global Photographer of the Year
Global Photography Awards aims to promote the beauty of the photograph. It does not matter if the photo was shot in the past or shot in the present, framed by a professional or an amateur. The competition is open to any photographer age 18 and over. You should enter each image into the best suited category. Images cannot be placed into multiple categories. The photographer’s name is never displayed during judging so each photo is scored on its own merit. Submissions for this competition open 1st July 2015 and there’s a $150,000 grand prize.
