Thirty years ago Donna Tart’s Ancient History was published, a book that she wrote for a period of eight years. It’s a book I constantly reread, it’s inspired by my love of Greek mythology. Told in Dickensian detail “I just thought I was writing an old-fashioned, very bizarre book that was to no one’s taste except my own. I was writing it for myself and my friends,” Tartt expressed. Mobile Photography & Art Flickr/Instagram Showcase We are giving away, 20 entries for each photographer who submits their images to the World Photography Organisation, Sony World Photography Awards Open competition. The Open competition is where all mobile photographs should be submitted. It is normally free to enter 3 images per photographer but we are giving each of you, however many thousands of you there are, 20 additional free entries. The overall winner of this category will receive $5,000 in cash, plus Sony digital imaging equipment, flights and accommodation to the awards ceremony in London (see you there), certificate, trophy, global press exposure, copy of the book, inclusion in the book, inclusion in the exhibited, promotion on WPO’s website, promoted…

Earlier this year, I attended the press view of ‘A Fortnight Of Tears’ by and with Tracey Emin, at The White Cube Gallery, London. What has interested me, particularly, since the exhibition are the wide ranging and diverse reviews and critiques of this show. Having spent time speaking with Emin, as well as sharing the exhibition and space with her, I felt closer to this artwork and to her psyche than I ever have before. Many of the reviews were critical, she is an artist who has always attracted harsh critics. Her most infamous work “My Bed” (1988), is in many ways, metaphorically, part of this exhibition.
