This story coming hot out of 9to5mac, states that a guy from Altanta, Georgia bought what he thought to be an Apple iPad from his local Walmart store. When he got home and opened it up, it turned out to be a fake iPad prop, with an identical shell to the real thing but hollow inside.
It seems that another previous ‘customer’ returned their Apple iPad for a refund, but returned this fake model. Therefore, getting a refund and keeping the real device.
Walmart are blaming Apple as they handle their returns apparently, and the customer is planning on taking out a lawsuit against Walmart. Here’s a video of the fake iPad in question. I don’t think Steve Jobs is going to be too happy about this.
