New $99 iPhone 4 – Really?
Reuters are reporting that ‘Asian suppliers to Apple Inc have begun manufacturing a lower-priced version of its hot-selling iPhone 4 with a smaller 8 gigabyte flash drive, according to two people with knowledge of the matter’.
Apple have been asked to comment and not surprisingly they have declined, as too have Samsung. Several analysts believe that a cheaper 8GB iPhone 4 could boost Apple’s sales in emerging markets.
There have been other rumors in recent weeks that Apple are planning on discontinuing the iPhone 3GS, so if that’s true then this cheaper iPhone 4 could really clean up.
And what of the incoming iPhone 5, well?
We’re pretty sure that it will feature a more spacious touchscreen, perhaps something along the lines of the Samsung Galaxy II? A better antenna and an eight megapixel camera and should be in our palms in September, we can’t wait.
