Reuters are reporting this morning that an Apple supplier plant, Pegatron Corp, suffered an explosion at the subsidiary’s plant in Shanghai this weekend. Sixty-one people are said to have been injured with twenty three needing hospital treatment. This latest incident of course, this throws the spotlight back onto safety concerns that have plagued factories in China.
Fire Not The Cause
Apparently the fire was not the cause of this explosion but details of the actual cause have also not yet emerged. The plant itself is apparently set up to produce iPad 2 back panels although rumors are emerging that perhaps this is more likely to be the iPad 3 back panel. Hopefully, more will be revealed soon.
