BBC iPlayer is one of our favorite apps here at theappwhisperer.com and we’re not alone; in the Android Marketplace it has been installed on almost 5,000,000 devices.
If you’re running Ice Cream Sandwich with perhaps your shiny new Galaxy Nexus device, you might have trouble getting this app to work. Talk Android have found a great workaround to help you with this. Take a look below at the instructions and start enjoying BBC iPlayer on your device.

This is what you should do, according to TalkAndroid.com:
- Grab Adobe Flash Player from the Android Market – Link
- Open your Browser and hit the menu key (the three dots in the top right corner) and tap “Request desktop site” to check it.
- Point the browser to www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer and the desktop site will open and you will be able to play radio content, as well as live and recorded TV, assuming you’re in the UK.
Please note that you may have to repeat step #2 the next time you do it since Android will remove the check for “Request desktop site” each time the browser closes.

It’s hardly a ‘workaround’…..
1. Go to the iplayer website
