VSCO Opens a Free NYC Studio for Photographers
Hiring a studio space in NYC is expensive, that’s one of the reasons the VSCO Open Studio is hugely attractive. Located in the NoMad neighbourhood of Manhattan, New York City, this studio is already kitted out with a permanent cyclorama, lighting equipment and other gear that can be borrowed, if needed.
The Open Studio is housed within VSCO’s NYC offices and is free to use. However, you will need to put down a $250 deposit to reserve the space. If you cancel within 72 hours of your session, you forfeit a deposit of $250. You will also be responsible for any damage to the space or any borrowed equipment. You’re allowed to bring along a maximum of six people and sessions are available once a week for 2-hour blocks.

Joanne Carter is a British photographer, photography journalist, editor and curator and the founder and editorial director of TheAppWhisperer.com, an independent international photography publication established in 2009.Her journalism, criticism and commentary have appeared in The Times, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, Financial Times, BBC, Vogue Italia, LensCulture, Popular Photography, Android Magazine, NikonPro, DPReview, Which Digital Camera and Which Camera.
