Mobile Photography & Art – Tip of the Day – Set Up An Alternative Face ID in iOS 12


We are re-igniting our Tip of the Day section and we have a great one here that you may not be aware of yet. With iOS 12 it’s now possible to set up an ‘alternative appearance’ for unlocking your iPhone X, Xs, Xs Max or XR. Previously, only one facial id could do this. This maybe a useful feature if you need to unlock your child’s device, or perhaps if you share a device. Whatever the reason, here’s how you do it:

Go To The Settings App

Scroll Down to the Face ID & Passcode Menu

Manually Enter Your Passcode

Select ‘Set Up an Alternative Appearance’

Now You’re Ready to Scan the Person You Would Like To Add
